“We love the diversity of the artists and countries” – interview with ZiBBZ!

In expectation of this year’s edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, we are inviting to the next interview implemented by our team INFE Poland! For our questions answered Swiss representative of this yearZiBBZ, which will perform the song Stones during the 1st semi-final of the 63. Eurovision Song Contest organized in Lisbon. We warmly invite you to the interview with the band!

Timur (INFE Poland): What is the story behind the name of your band?

ZiBBZ: ZiBBZ is derived from the English word ”siblings”. I still vividly remembers the moment when she was 10 years old, standing in a music store and seeing all the musician’s CD’s thinking that if she was ever going to have her own band she definitely wants it to have a unique name. A name that doesn’t perish.

Timur (INFE Poland): Who is your musical inspiration and why?

ZiBBZ: We grew up listening to Rock’n’Roll. Blues, Rock and Soul was always a big inspiration for us (The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Led Zepplin). Nowadays we love artists like 21pilots, Jack White, Paramore, Beck, No Doubt, and Pink.

Timur (INFE Poland): Could you describe the background of your application to ”Die Entscheidungshow” in Switzerland? Who did come up with this idea?

ZiBBZ: The idea originally came from friends of ours that worked for ESC. We always used to watch ESC with our family when we were kids. We always had in mind to perform on ESC ourselves one day but never felt our kind of music/performance really had a chance until the more recent years when more diverse acts and songs became more accepted.

Timur (INFE Poland): What are your favorites Eurovision entries?

ZiBBZ: Of course, ABBA is the most legendary performance, but our absolute favorites are The Common Linnets.

Timur (INFE Poland): Have you already got the idea of your performance? Do you want to stay with this two big pyramids that we know from TV-show? Do they mean something vital?

ZiBBZ: We have designed an amazing little set-up for the Swiss final show and we know we’re going to give 120% and enjoy every minute. That’s all we can do. The rest is up to the audience!

Timur (INFE Poland): Did you hear chosen songs from the other countries? Who is your favorite?

ZiBBZ: We love the diversity of the artists and countries. And even though there are other duos, we are all different. We think the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom are pretty strong. Let’s see! 🙂

Timur (INFE Poland): How do you feel before Eurovision Song Contest?

ZiBBZ: We are looking forward to meeting the amazing community we have already had contact with online!

Be sure to check out other interviews with the participants of this year’s Eurovision, which we managed to conduct:

Jestem Timur. Cóż za niespotykane imię ;) Mam 17 lat, mieszkam w Gdańsku. Eurowizją interesuję się od 2014/2015 roku (żałuję, że nie dłużej). Moje ulubione piosenki z Konkursu to m.in. "1944", "LoveWave", "Weil's da guat got", "Suus", "Midninght Gold", "Flashlight", ''Bones'', "Skeletons", czy "Undo". Oprócz Eurowizji interesuję się geografią, kulturą i zwyczajami poszczególnych państw. Zagłębiam też tajemnice Islandii, gdzie chciałbym w przyszłości zamieszkać. W redakcji INFE POLAND jestem od grudnia 2016 roku i nie zamierzam zbyt prędko się z nią żegnać.
